Mock Ups

As part of my planning for the production of my magazine front cover I have produced various mock ups. (See below)

Conventions that it uses / develops:

• Mast head is partially covered
• Menu strip is featured across the bottom
• Bar code is at the bottom of the right third of the cover
• Supporting cover lines are featured in both the left and right third

Conventions that it challenges:

• The date etc is at the top of the right third

Conventions that it uses / develops:

• Main image is the central focus of the magazine
• Mast head is positioned across the central top of the cover

Conventions that it challenges:

• Barcode is positioned at the bottom of the left third
• Mast Head is layer over the main image - detracts from the main image
• Tagline is positioned above the mast head
• Supporting coverlines are positioned in the menu strip across the bottom of the cover

Conventions that it uses / develops:

• Menu strip is positioned across the bottom of the cover
• Supporting cover lines are positioned in both the left and right thirds of the cover
• Mast Head is partially covered

Conventions that it challenges:

• Barcode is postioned at the top of the right third
• A date etc is not included
• Main image forms the background of the cover and is the bottom layer
